Summer Events

Thanks to the hard work of our members and the support of our donors, BHPS offers a number of fun and informative community events each summer. Here’s what’s in store for summer 2024!

Thursday, July 18, 2-4pm
Belfast artist Susan Tobey White will join us to share her paintings of Bayside and beyond, including many of the works that appear in her book Lobstering Women of Maine. The event will include a book signing.

Saturday, July 27, 6:30-8:30pm
BHPS welcomes Bernard Fishman, Director of the Maine State Museum, for a talk on the importance of stereoviews in the recording of Maine history. 3-D glasses included!

Thursday, August 1
The 6th annual Collectors’ Day returns to the Community Hall on August 1. Bayside residents and visitors–young and old–are invited to share their collections with the community. For more information or to express your interest in participating, contact Joe Reilly at jpjvreilly@aol.com.

Sundays, June-August
Stop by Shady Grove, the BHPS Cottage Museum, on Pleasant Street, most Sundays this summer from 2-4pm.

All Summer!

Visit the Community Hall for an ongoing exhibition of photographs, postcards, and ephemera from the BHPS collection displayed in the downstairs meeting room during NVC office hours. (For updated office hours, go to nvmaine.org.)
