Thanks to the hard work of our members and the support of our donors, BHPS is pleased to offer a number of exciting events this summer.
From There to Here
“Over the years, the trip to the Campground at Northport has been one of adventure.”
BHPS is pleased to announce a special 2023 exhibition of photographs, maps, and excerpts from oral histories illustrating how Baysiders made the journey from “there to here”. The exhibition, pulled from the BHPS collections, is on view in the Community Hall Meeting Room through the summer and can be visited during office hours (currently 9am-12pm on Monday and Tuesday and 9am-2pm Wednesday through Friday).

Bookmaking Workshop, June 23/24, 10am-4pm

Collectors’ Day: August 1, 2023
BHPS is pleased to host the fifth annual Collectors’ Day on August 1 from 10am-3pm upstairs in the Community Hall. New collectors as well as previous exhibitors are welcome to participate. This year’s event will include a Children’s Corner, where children (with their parents’ support) can share their collections with the community. Collections can include such things as gifts from nature, special toy collections, favorite books, sports or travel memorabilia, you name it. Some of the past collections shared by the adults have included wood carvings, old tools, duck decoys, dolls, thimbles, pigs, postcards, fire trucks, whimsical creations from nature, and even coconut heads. Who knows the range of things people collect? Contact Joy (firstname.lastname@example.org or 352-215-3557) if you’d like to display your collection or have any questions.
Dancing Under the Stars: Friday, August 4, 2023
BHPS and Bayside Arts are once again teaming up to host this always popular summer dance party. Join us at 7:30pm on the basketball court as DJ Denis Howard of local radio WERU-FM plays oldies, goodies, and more! Free for young and old.
